Everything is a blur. Dru’s dad became a zombie and she kill’s
him. Then she meet’s this guy who sits infornt of her in class and turns into a
semi warewolf. He got bitten by a warewolf
with highlights. Then she meet’s this djamphir who tries to help them. I kept
falling asleep. Thank God I didn’t miss the important parts.
This was supposed to be an easy read but I just can get my
head into it. I kept zoning out and on
several occasions have thrown the book to the floor. It’s not a bad book, I liked
the last part of it. I guess it’s coz it
started slow and it was kinda confusing. It was too descriptive for me that i’m
unable to picture out what was happening. It’s the same thing that happens to
me when I’m reading adult fiction books which is probably why I don’t read much
of them. It gets me confused. She also
talks to herself too much. I liked it at first coz it’s real. We don’t always say what we think but it was
too much for me. I also was not able to connect with the dad’s death coz the
dad being alive part was too short for me to relate. It was also kinda disappointing. The cover of
the book says “Dru Anderson Night hunter, Knife Thrower, Heartbreaker” but in
this book you can’t call her a night hunter.
She’s just a regular girl with a night hunter mom and amateur night
hunter dad and with an attitude problem.
There was also no heartbreaking. I
don’t remember much knife throwing, it’s more guns than knives. I guess I expected her to be kick ass. But that is the reason why I will continue
reading this series. I wanna see her improve. Well I hope she does. Hell, I’m
sure she will. I’m just so used to
reading about kick ass girls who gets better as the series progresses. I didn’t expect a sorta clumsy and kinda
clueless girl who has too much thought bubble conversations. Atleast there is
something fresh or different about this series.
If you haven’t read this series, you should be ready to let
go of some of your paranormal beliefs coz some of them are kinda different.
I’m not happy with this first book and Dru is currently my top 2 irritating female protagonist but I will continue reading it for sure.
