I totally
like this story. Noah and Echo are both
outcasts and they both have their own family issues. Then they meet and fall in love. The plot isn’t new but the execution of the
story was lovely.
Echo worked
on recovering her repressed memory. Noah worked on getting his brothers
back. They tried to help each other get
through it and in the process they fall in love. It’s a common plot but I still loved it. Here’s my attempt to explain why:
1)
Echo
and Noah never lost their individuality.
They functioned as individuals fixing their own problems while giving
emotional support to the other. They
made each other strong.
2)
Both
problems were given equal importance throughout the story. In most books I’ve read, aside from “falling
in love” there would only be one other problem.
Or if there would be 2 issues, one would always take a back seat. In Pushing limits was able to give both
issues equal amount of spotlight.
3)
The
characters are hot. Hehehe (Aren’t they always?!? Hehehe)
4)
They
fell in love but did not go fatal. They
still remembered they had other issues and were not dependent on the other for
its resolution. There were no “I can’t
do this without you” crap.
I’m looking
forward to reading Pushing Limits #2. Jock and emo skatergirl…I’m already
loving it!
