Xemerius!!!!
The ghost…no,
DEMON gargoyle made me enjoy this more than the first. I always had something to say about
everything and it was all very entertaining.
He made me laugh, A LOT. It would have been a totally different
experience if Xemerius wasn’t there. There
were a lot of aspects that made me frustrated (not in a bad way) and he
lightened it up. I went thru Sapphire blue like I was Gwen.
“It was so frustrating that there are a lot of
things that weren’t clear to me. I didn’t know what the end game was. There’s
something missing. Why did they had to work with that creepy count, why is he
like the boss and why do they trust him? Are those written in the Annals
accurate? Lucy and Paul stole the
chronograph, and stealing is bad. I get it. But I’m sure they had a
reason. Why isn’t any one interested in
finding out? They just assume they’re
the bad guys! And Gideon!!! Why does he just accept all of these? I thought he
was smart but he’s not thinking. And why
does he blame Gwen, he said it him self, she couldn’t have hit him in the head.
He’s a time traveler! Didn’t he think that it could have been him hitting
himself in the head? Does he have a thing for Charlotte??? Why does he keep
kissing Gwen then!?! Is he just playing with her or using her for something???
is this an
i-didn’t-wanna-fall-for-you-but-i-did-that’s-why-I’m-acting-like-a-jerk angle?”
Those were
some of the stuff running thru my head that made me frustrated. I seriously don’t mean it in a bad way. Those questions made me more interested in the
story, I got sucked in completely. It
also helped that time travelling was kept simple simple. As much as the science behind the concept of
time travel intrigues me, I don’t like them discussed much in stories or
movies. It makes it confusing. It might
seem weird to other people but I really liked the Gideon-Gwen relationship.
Gideon is a jerk most of the time that whenever he gets nice and kissy kissy I
just fall for it. I’m pretty sure he’s
like that coz he’s falling for her and is trying to fight it and losing…or
something like that. (In real life it won’t work coz those things don’t
happens. Jerks are jerks period.)
This is my
favorite among the 3 books.
