Episode: Slap her already (Strange Angels book 5:Reckoning by Lili St Crow)

This is the best book in the series and this is final. She has finally bloomed (Thank you God!!) which ended her shaking every time a vampire shows up. The action didn’t make me dizzy and I actually enjoyed it.  My favorite would be when Gran’s house was burning. She was kicking ass then Christophe, Ash and Graves showed up.  Aside from the action, Dru also started telling her head to shut up.  I found myself saying “its about time” when she was being chased but still kept thinking of things not related to fighting back or escaping then she tells herself to stop thinking about those things.

If I’d rate this, I’d give it a 3/5. I know I said that this is the best but the rating is lower than the rating I’d give defiance. Let me run down the reason. Dru! Yes she finally kicked ass but she was so irritating!!! She was crying while she was at the restaurant with Christophe. WTF!!! She almost went crazy when she found out that the excuse Christophe gave the waiter for her fainting was coz he proposed. Big Deal, it was just an excuse!  Then she went all out crazy coz Graves was leaving.  She was nagging him. If I was Graves, I would have slapped her. I would have slapped her again during the council meeting.  You can reason out with the bitch. Then she starts thinking she killed Sergej, with Christophe’s help but it was still her…whatever. And there’s the ending, she tells Christophe he’s old and creepy but when he asks if he has a chance she says she doesn’t know.  She also told him that she doesn’t wanna be with anybody, so that’s why she went mental when she found out Graves was leaving.  She’s irritating!

If I skipped the last chapters, if I stopped after they were rescued, I would have given this a 4.5. The missing 0.5 is for the “that would have been funny…”, “it would have been hilarious if…” and the caramel skinned Asian, half-Asian (this is not really irritating, just kinda bugs me coz I haven’t seen caramel skinned guys from Japanese descent unless they got sunburned).
