Episode: Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa

I love Iron Queen.  I was afraid that this would just be a repeat of Iron King but it isn’t.  Main plot is the same, travel through the Iron Realm then kill the Iron King/false Iron King, but with a totally different and more exciting adventure.  It started slow for me.  The side story on Meghan’s dad was something I could have lived without.  It just slowed the story for me.  The longing for her dad, the desperation to make him normal, and her hatred towards Puck coz she felt betrayed, fell flat. Ok, maybe not on the my-best friend-betrayed-me episode she had, that majorly irritated me.   I didn’t get why she was that mad.  It was too much.  But the irritation faded as soon as Puck was back in to the picture regardless of his mood.  He also made the Meghan-Ash love story lighter.  Ash is overly protective and Meghan’s fatal for him and uhm, horny (?), it turned my Meghan-Ash love love smiles to “this is getting kinda emo, where’s Puck…oh there he is, hihihi”. I’m not saying Meghan should be with Puck, NO! I like Puck as he is, it’s sad but I can’t imagine him with Meghan.  Unless the genre gets changed to New Adult, hehehe.  I like her with Ash. They just got a bit more emo or intense than I expected/wanted and so my system needed Puck.

The story got awesome as soon as they got back to Nevernever and were told to kill the false king. New character’s were introduced, new areas within the iron realm was shown. It also revisited places and met people we’ve met in Iron King.  The fights were exciting. It was like watching an action anime, colorful and with cool fight scenes.  It’s similar when Fairy Tail fighting against another guild or Naruto.  It got even more awesome ‘coz I my question got answered. The Iron knight looked like ash coz the iron knights were patterned with the courts.  And, I didn’t expect the ending, I like! I’m so excited to begin reading Iron Knight.
